Dry, oaked white Bordeaux is one of the most underrated styles of wine in my view. I can’t understand why it’s not more popular (probably because the Bordelais keep most of it for themselves).

Last night’s #nye dinner wines: a spectacular magnum of fizz from @ferraritrento and a magnum of albarino from @terrasgauda (both #gifted) plus @thewinesociety1874’s Exhibition Naoussa Xinomavro (great with a very winey beef daube and their glorious Ulysse Cazabonne Sauternes which I recommend you lay your hands on as it’s always going out of stock.
